DAY 1
Arrival at the airport. Check into selected hotel in Colombo and rest of the day at leisure. Afternoon do a brief city tour of Colombo.
Colombo – A drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah. And the Colombo 07 area commonly known as Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 03, 04, 05, 06, 08 are the prime residential areas of the City. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street which is lined with goldsmith’s shops, St. Lucia’s Cathedral the oldest and the largest parish cathedral in Sri Lanka, the Dutch Church at Wolfendal dating back to 1749. The historic Davatagaha Mosque, Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H are some of the attractions in Colombo.
Having a fine cooked Crab meal for dinner and return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 2
After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura en route sightseeing fishery village at Negombo and passing coconut plantations and lush paddy fields. In the afternoon commence a city tour.
Anuradhapura – The first capital of Sri Lanka for more than 1400 years from the 4th century B.C. And it was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its huge Shrines(dagobas) constructed of bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these shrines are the Ruvanveliseya which dates back to the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 feet in diameter, the Jetawanaramaya is 370 feet and the Thuparama Dagoba enshrines the right collarbone of the Buddha. You visit Isurumuniya, Ruvanveliseya, Brazen Palace, Sacred Bo Tree, Thuparamaya, Lankaramaya, Moonstone, Abhayagiriya, Samadhi Budda statue, Twin ponds and Jetawana Dagabo. Among the many remains of places and Buddhist monuments the one most outstanding is the Sacred Bo Tree which is the oldest historically authenticated tree on earth. It was planted 2250 years ago. On completion leave for Habarana for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3
After breakfast visit the world famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress and frescoes.
Sigiriya – Sigiriya is a Rock fortress where King Kasyapa built a fortified palace on top and around 183 meters rocky outcrop in the 5th century AD. Sigiriya fortress is most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge crouching lion image that is carved at the entrance to the fortress. Sigiriya also well known for world famous passionate fresco paintings of life sized beautiful maidens done by the natural colours. The other most impressive facets of the unique complex are the Water Gardens, swimming pool, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion platform and the Summit of 1.6 hectares.
On the same day if you wish to visit Minneriya National Park, then the Sigiriya Rock Fortress visit will be arranged in the following day.
On completion leave for Polonnaruwa ruined city.
Polonnaruwa – It was the capital from the 11th to 13th centuries with 12 rulers. Of all the brilliant structures at Polonnaruwa the best known is the glorious Gal Vihara complex. These are the 12th century statues cut from a single granite wall and rank among the true masterpieces of Sri Lankan art. Other famous ruins are King Parakramabaahu Statue, King Parakramabaahu Palace, Shiva Temple, Thuparama Image House, Atadage, Watadage, Hetadage, Galpotha(stone book), Sathmahal Prasada, Rankoth Vehera, Lanka Thilaka, Kiri Vehera, Gal Vihira, Thivanka Image House and Lotus Pond. The 12th century Lotus Bath is some of finest creations of old Sri Lanka.
You can also have an Elephant Back Safari (optional) on your en route to Polonnaruwa city tour.
After visiting Polonnaruwa proceed to your hotel in Habarana for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4

DAY 5
After breakfast leave for city tour in Kandy. On your city tour you will visit the Scenic Upper Lake Drive, Wood Carving Factory, Batik Factory, Gem Museum and Factory and Arts and Crafts Center.
Later proceed to Pinnawala for visit the Elephant Orphanage.
Elephant Orphanage – Most of the elephants in the orphanage are raised to maturity after having been found abandoned or injured in the country’s jungles. Elephants young and old are given sanctuary in a natural habitat here. It now has babies born at the orphanage, as a result of the captive-breeding programme. And the orphanage has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world. It is interesting to visit at the feeding and the bathing time of elephants.
After visiting orphanage return to the same hotel in Kandy for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 6
After breakfast leave for Peradeniya to visit the Royal Botanical Garden.
Royal Botanical Gardens – Believed to be one of the most beautiful gardens in South Asia and begun as a pleasure garden by a King of Sri Lanka in 14th century. Every variety tropical and temperate tree and flower is cultivated here. You can also drive through the Avenue of Royal Palms, the bamboo fringed riverside drive, and great variety of flowers, plants and mature trees. The giant Javan fig tree, which covers an impressive 1600 sq meters is a must see.
After visiting Botanical Garden proceed to Nuwara Eliya driving along the beautiful green carpet Tea bushes en route visiting a Tea Plantation and Factory.
Afternoon commence a city tour in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya – It is well know as “Little England” Sri Lanka’s premier hill resort with a fine bracing mountain climate, Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, producing some of the world’s best tea. The mountain slopes and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls, red or green roofed plantation bungalows, English country style homes and hotels with lovely vegetables, fruit and flower gardens, a fine 18-hole golf course and a race course give Nuwara Eliya a decidedly British character.

DAY 7
After breakfast proceed to Kataragama en route visiting Buduruwagala ancient Temple. It is thought to be a hermitage for monks. The sculptures of Buduruvagala also include many sculptures of Bodhisattva images including Mahayana tradition.Arrive at selected hotel in Katharagama or Tissamaharama.
In the afternoon visit Hindu Temple at Kataragama.
Kataragama Hindu Temple- Kataragama temple is a Hindu and Buddhist temple complex dedicated to Skanda-Murukan also known as Kataragamadevio. It is one of the few religious sites in Sri Lanka that is venerated by the majority Sinhala Buddhists, minority Hindu Tamils, Muslims and the indigenous Vedda people.It is a collection of modest shrines, of which the one dedicated to Skanda-Murukan also known as Kataragamadevio is the most important.

DAY 8
After breakfast leave for your Hotel in Colombo via en route do a brief city tour with a visit to Dutch Fort in Galle, or you can settle on the way through Udawalawe en route seeing of Elephants along the way and visiting Gem Pits in Ratnapura.
Dinner and overnight stay at selected hotel in Colombo.
DAY 9
Breakfast at the hotel and later check out and leave to the airport on time for the departure.
